Cornelius Pickleball Programs

Lake Norman Pickleball Association is excited to partner with Cornelius Parks and Recreation to provide educational clinics. We will be offering clinics in multi-week series that will build on different skills each week. We will also be offering one-day clinics targeted to one specific skill. Clinics will be based on skill level. Signing up for the correct skill level helps both you and the instructional group get the most from the lesson. Please see the current clinic offerings below.

LKNPA does not want financial hardship to be a barrier to participation. We offer a scholarship program for those that meet qualifying criteria. If you feel you may qualify, email Dave Mancuso (dave.lknpickleball@gmail.com) for more information.

LKNPA members need to login prior to registering to receive member discount. If you are not a member, but would like to join to receive clinic discounts and other benefits, please click the Join tab above for more information.

Interested in improving your pickleball skills while beating the heat?? Join us for an early morning clinic that is sure to elevate your game. These early morning clinics will be limited to a small group of 4 - 8 players for an hour of focused skill-building.

This clinic will focus on what most people consider the most important shot in pickleball and that is the 3rd shot.  Executed by the serving team, this shot really sets the tome for how a point will be played out.  This clinic will focus on whether you should drive or drop your third shot and how to execute each shot.

There's a time to drive and a time to drop.  Register for this clinic to prepare yourself for this important shot.

Want to beat the heat and improve your game? Rise and shine and join us for an early morning clinic? These early morning clinics will be limited to a small group of  eight players for an hour of focused skill building.

Most open play and recreational pickleball players play a style of play that involves "banging" or hitting every shot hard.  While this is not the optimal way to play, it is very common and can be intimidating. The clinic will focus on teaching you how to stand your ground at the kitchen line and use shots like blocks, resets, and punch volleys to frustrate "bangers" and win more points.

Do lobs frustrate you?  Do you just give up on them when they're hit behind you?  Attend this clinic to learn how and when to execute your own lobs effectively and also the most efficient and safe way to retrieve lobs.  Since overheads are a natural by-product of lob defense, we will also focus on hitting firmly hit but well-placed overhead winners.
